Lifetime’s upcoming scripted series UnREAL, miniseries The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe and movie Stockholm, Pennsylvania are now all available for viewing on http://press.aenetworks.com.
UnREAL – First three episodes available
Lifetime’s highly anticipated scripted series, premiering Monday, June 1, at 10pm ET/PT, stars Shiri Appleby (Girls, Roswell) and Constance Zimmer (House of Cards, Entourage) and created by Marti Noxon (Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, Mad Men, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Sarah Gertrude Shapiro. Set against the backdrop of fictional hit dating competition show Everlasting, UnREAL is led by flawed heroine Rachel Goldberg (Appleby), a young producer whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with, and among, the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the program’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Zimmer), demands. What ensues is an eye-opening look at what happens in the outrageous world of unscripted television, where being a contestant can be vicious and being a producer a whole other reality.
The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe – Night One & Night Two available
Kelli Garner (The Aviator, Pan Am) plays the legendary star Marilyn Monroe in Lifetime’s four-hour event, premiering Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, at 8pm ET/PT. The miniseries, which uncovers many closely-guarded secrets the blonde bombshell kept from the public, also stars Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon (Dead Man Walking, The Last of Robin Hood) as Marilyn’s biggest secret of all, her mother Gladys, long institutionalized for mental illness. Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Emily Watson (Hilary and Jackie) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Texas Rising, Magic City) also headline the cast while Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri Martino (Californication) plays Gladys in her youth. Morgan stars as Joe DiMaggio while Watson portrays Grace McKee, Marilyn’s childhood guardian.
Stockholm, Pennsylvania – Movie available
Premiering Saturday, May 9 at 8pm ET/PT, the film stars Academy Award® and Golden Globe® nominee Saoirse Ronan, Golden Globe nominee and Emmy Award® winner Cynthia Nixon, Golden Globe nominee Jason Isaacs and David Warshofsky. Abducted 17 years ago, Leia (Ronan) is miraculously found and returned home to her parents Marcy (Nixon) and Glen Dargon (Warshofsky). Having long forgotten her family, after being raised by her captor Benjamin McKay (Isaacs), Leia finds herself unable to connect to those who love her the most. Instead, she yearns for Ben, the only father figure she’s ever known, and the safety of the basement she called home most of her life. Marcy resorts to desperate measures to forge a relationship with Leia, allowing her marriage to unravel as a byproduct. With Marcy’s increasingly erratic actions echoing those of Ben, Leia is left questioning what it really means to be loved.
