THE REVENANT on Blu-ray & DVD April 19

THE REVENANT made history in more ways than one this year. Not only did Leonardo DiCaprio win his first ever Academy Awards, Mr. Iñárritu picked up his second Academy Award, making it the first time in history that a Mexican has won for Best Director three times in a row (Alfonso Cuarón won in 2014).

THE REVENANT is now available on Digital HD and will be debuting in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on April 19 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Mexican cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki also won in his category, making it an impressive THREE in a row (Mr. Lubezki won in 2014 and 2015 for GRAVITY and BIRDMAN, respectively.) He has been nominated in the category 8 times.

  • Interviews – Although we likely do not have Mr. Iñárritu or Mr. Lubezki, we do have pre-taped interviews. Additionally, we have the below talent available:

o   Arthur RedCloud (Hikuc) – Worked closely with Leo DiCaprio (Hugh Glass) as the Native American who saves him in his most desperate time in the film.

o   Forrest Goodluck (Hawk) – Plays Hugh Glass’ (DiCaprio) son who due to tragic events, sets Hugh on a mission of redemption and revenge.

o   Clay Landry (Historian) – Worked closely with the cast and crew to insure that the story of Hugh Glass and the fur trappers remained true to history.

  • The Works of “El Chivo” – Emmanuel Lubezki has achieved what few have, winning three Academy Awards for Cinematography in a ROW.

o   Highlight THE REVENANT as the latest of El Chivo’s work but celebrate his previous titles with a slideshow honoring his previous films as a “build up” to THE REVENANT when it comes out on Blu-ray.

o   Utilize the beautiful screenshots from each film to highlight El Chivo’s talent for lighting and photography.

  • The Works of Alejandro G. Iñárritu – So many of Mr. Iñárritu’s great work also came BEFORE he picked up his first Academy Award for BIRDMAN.

o   Similar to above, create a photo slideshow of “Iñárritu Films You May Have Missed” to celebrate the release of THE REVENANT.

o   Other Films: BIUTIFUL, BABEL, 21 GRAMS
